Queenstown's Gardens & Parks celebrate all four seasons in a colourful, vibrant wonderland of serenity and beauty. If you're here between October and March, sign up to a Queenstown Garden Tour, a unique way of exploring the best of the area's gardens. They'll take you over to Arrowtown to see the famous tree blossoms, and also visit private gardens that you wouldn't otherwise get to see.   The Kiwi Birdlife Park is a lovely way to spend the day, observing birds in their natural habitat, and also taking advantage of the quiet, pretty parkland. In the city center, you're a stone's throw from Queenstown Gardens, on the lakeside. It's the perfect place for a picnic, and there are lots of paths criss-crossing the flat greenery. If you're lucky, you'll even catch a match at Queenstown Cricket Club.   Further out, there are two scenic reserves, Ben Lomond (site of Skyline Queenstown) and Queenstown Hill. Both give unparalleled views of the city, and are popular with trampers and mountain bikers.
