Queenstown Buses

The Connectabus runs frequently and connects passengers to surrounding suburbs and places of interest. Given there's no rail service in Queenstown, it's a choice between the bus, taxi rental car or walking!

The Connectabus are distinctive yellow buses, dedicated to connecting Queenstown with Arrowtown, shopping malls, the airport, Arthur's Point, and many tourist attractions. You can buy a daily or weekly pass, hopping on and off at your leisure.

Buses run from 6.00am to around 11.30pm and operate along 6 routes, stopping off at Kelvin Heights, Arthur's Point, Quail Rise, Fernhill, Sunshine Bay, Arrowtown, Queenstown Airport/Remarkables Park and Lake Hayes. There's also a regular service between Queenstown and Wanaka.

One of the routes covers the Hotel/Motel circuit within central Queenstown, costs $12 and operates every 15 mins between Queenstown Airport and the CBD. For a 1 day unlimited traval pass, prices are $33 for an adult and $12 for a child. Single journeys vary from $3 to $8.

Queenstown to Arrowtown

The bus operates 5 times a day from Queenstown to Arrowtown starting at 7.35am until 9.35pm. A one way fare costs $15.

Queenstown to Wanaka

Twice a day, there's a regular service between Queenstown and Wanaka that travels over the scenic Crown Range via Cardrona. A one way ticket cost $35 while a return pass costs $65.

The service departs Queenstown at 9.15am and 3.00pm. The return from Wanaka departs at 11.00am and 4.45pm.
